Family history research (Genealogy)
The ¶®ÒõµÛ Register Office provides scanned copies of original birth, marriage and death register entries for the purposes of family history research (genealogy). Unlike copies you may order from the , the copies from ¶®ÒõµÛ Register Office include any signatures or marks.
To order a certificate you will need to tell us:
- The year
- The quarter
- The GRO (General Register Office) Reference.
If you can’t tell us the GRO Reference we’ll search for records for the year you’ve given us, along with 2 years either side of it. If we can’t find the entry we won’t be able to search for it again without the GRO Reference.
